Robert L. Cross
Robert Cross
is a licensed professional electrical engineer with extensive experience in seismic data acquisition instrumentation. In addition he has extensive computer programming experience related to seismic data acquisition instrumentation test analysis. He is an expert on acquisition instrumentation filter characteristics.Robert worked for twenty-seven years for Texaco Inc. where he was responsible for worldwide on-site quality control tests of seismic field equipment and operations. His experiences include projects in Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Colombia, Guatemala, Trinidad, Nigeria, Angola, Morocco, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, the North Sea, Continental US, and the Gulf of Mexico. He provided a broad range of technical support for the ten land and one marine Texaco-owned domestic seismic crews. He designed an extensive software package that enabled acquisition instrumentation tests to be analyzed quickly and in Texaco’s facilities. He developed a comprehensive software library of the phase characteristics of the acquisition filters of all models of seismic acquisition instruments that enabled their acquisition data to be phase-corrected during seismic processing.
Robert has an MSEE from the University of Houston and a BSEE from the University of Arkansas. He has a P.E. license from the State of Arkansas. He is currently a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
