Lynne J. Edleson

Lynne Edleson is a recognized geophysicist specializing in seismic processing, imaging and quality assurance. She has extensive experience on worldwide marine and land programs including deep and shallow water, transition zone and difficult terrain environments using traditional and experimental 3-D methods. Lynne’s technical expertise includes seismic processing, time and depth imaging, and AVO and rock property interpretation. She is also known for her considerable in-field processing experience and strong communication skills. Her experience includes work with data from throughout S. America (Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia), Gulf of Mexico, offshore West Africa, North Africa, various republics in the former Soviet Union, the North Sea, the Middle East, and Asia/Pacific region (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia and Papua New Guinea).

Lynne worked 22 years for Mobil Oil Corporation in a variety of technical and seismic processing team leadership positions. Her work included providing project management and quality assurance for proprietary processing and imaging projects for various E&P affiliates; planning and designing new seismic acquisition and processing programs; and negotiating with contractors on behalf of various affiliates.

Lynne has an M.S. in Mathematics, an M.S. in High Energy Physics and a B.A. in Physics and Mathematics from Southern Methodist University. She has also conducted post-graduate studies in Mathematical Statistics at the University of Oregon and was a visiting research fellow at C.E.R.N. in Geneva, Switzerland. Lynne is an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) having served as the 1997 Annual Meeting Technical Program Chairman, Vice President of the SEG Scholarship Foundation and is currently a candidate for President-Elect. She is also a past president and honorary member of the Dallas Geophysical Society and former chairman of the ProMAX Users Group. Lynne is fluent in English and French, and proficient in Spanish, German and Russian.
